The controversial Shellharbour City Hub issue involves the planned construction of a new complex in Shellharbour City Centre, to house the Shellharbour City Council administration and various community facilities at a forecast total cost of $53.9 million.
The City Hub proposal was actually kicked off and supported by the former Liberal Mayor, Councillor Kellie Marsh in 2012 – despite her opposition to the project now.
The petition was debated in State Parliament in November 2014. See Anna’s speech here.
The Minister for Local Government’s official response to the petition, confirming the issue is a matter for the Shellharbour City Council and not the State Government, can be found here.
