Member for Shellharbour, Anna Watson, is calling on local councils and not-for-profit community groups in the Shellharbour electorate to apply for a share of funding available under the 2017 Community Building Partnership (CBP) program.
“Established in 2009, the Community Building Partnership program is a Labor initiative that to this day continues to enable local Councils and not-for-profit groups to build important infrastructure that contribute to a more vibrant and inclusive community” said Ms Watson.
“With $300,000 again up for grabs within the Shellharbour electorate, I would encourage local Councils and not-for-profit community groups that need some extra funding for the building, refurbishment or enhancement of facilities, to take the time to carefully prepare their funding applications”.
“Over the past 6 years I have had the privilege of awarding over 70 community groups and projects in the Shellharbour electorate a share of $2 million to enhance our local community”.
“I am still in awe of the impressive and worthwhile projects that continue to be put forward locally, each and every year, under this program. It just goes to show what an energetic and diverse not-for-profit community base we have in the Shellharbour electorate” said Ms Watson.
Applications for funding will be open for 6 six weeks from 26 June and close on 9 August 2017.
Before applying, applicants are urged to read the program guidelines to check that both their organisation and proposed project are eligible.
