16 local community groups will share in $300,000 of funding under the 2017 Community Building Partnerships program announced today by Member for Shellharbour, Anna Watson.
“Established in 2009 by the former State Labor Government, the Community Building Partnerships program continues to deliver much needed funding to local not-for-profit groups for new community infrastructure projects that will enhance local facilities.
“This grassroots funding aims to create more vibrant and inclusive communities and deliver positive social, environmental and recreational outcomes that will directly benefit our community.
“Over the years I have had the privilege of working closely with so many wonderful and dedicated local community organisations and volunteers who do such important work for our local community.
“I am still in awe of the impressive and worthwhile projects that continue to be put forward locally, each and every year, under this program. It just goes to show what an energetic and diverse not-for-profit community base we have in the Shellharbour electorate.
“It is honestly one of the best parts of my job, as a Member of Parliament, being able to give back to these organisations and seeing their projects come to fruition.
“Congratulations to all of those organisations that were successful in their application under the 2017 Community Building Partnerships program. I trust that once complete, these projects will make a positive difference in our local community” said Ms Watson.
