Watson unconcerned by Liberal Party train station snub

Member for Shellharbour Anna Watson said today she was totally unconcerned over the apparent snub of inviting Labor representatives to the ‘media briefing’ for the opening of the new station, Shellharbour Junction.

“I was out with my Parliamentary colleague, Member for Throsby, Stephen Jones, this morning looking over new concept designs for new upgraded roads at West Dapto funded by both the former State and Federal Labor Governments.

“I welcome the new station taking commuters and I am totally not fussed about not being invited to the Liberal Party branch meeting held on the Shellharbour Junction platform earlier today.

“It does however disappoint me that the Mayor of Shellharbour City wasn’t invited to attend on behalf of Shellharbour City Council”, she said.

Ms Watson said that it was intriguing that the station needed to have a rushed opened today after revelations reported in the media that the station’s new toilets hadn’t been completed yet.

“But I suppose with Gareth Ward’s renowned enthusiasm for attending the opening of a dunny door, we perhaps may all score an invitation after all when the station’s new toilet facilities are finally completed”, she said.
