Sydney Water will undertake maintenance work at a wastewater pumping station in Wollingurry Street, Haywards Bay, from Friday, 19 June, Member for Shellharbour, Anna Watson said this afternoon.
“This essential work is part of the SewerFix Program to improve the wastewater system and protect public health and the environment.
“Work will be continuous from 7 am Friday, 19 June to 5 pm Sunday 21 June 2015, if required. It is expected this work will take about three days to finish, weather permitting.
“Work involves cleaning and relining the vacuum tank.
“Local residents may notice trucks, excavators and machinery during the day. A compressor will be used when spraying the vacuum tank overnight.
“I’ve been assured Sydney Water will make every effort to minimise noise and traffic disturbance to the community during the work.
“This work will not interrupt water supply or wastewater services to the area”, Ms Watson said.
