WATSON OPPOSES WARD’S PARLIAMENTARY BACK SLAPPING

MEDIA RELEASE

Member for Shellharbour Anna Watson has this afternoon hit back at claims by Gareth Ward that she opposed the construction of the Albion Park Rail Bypass in the State Parliament.

“Mr Ward’s parliamentary back-slapping is the only thing I oppose.

“I’m not one bit interested in Mr Ward’s self-congratulations on the floor of the State Parliament.

“Mr Ward should buy a mirror if he wants to give himself a back-slap.

“I am interested in why he can’t outline a clear timetable for the commencement and completion of the Albion Park Rail Bypass.

“Mr Ward couldn’t do it on the floor of the State Parliament and he can’t do it now.

“The only thing motorists using the Princes Highway along Albion Park Rail want to know is:

  • When will construction start?
  • When will construction finish?

Ms Watson also highlighted that Mr Ward is still unable to explain how the bypass will be funded if the State Government doesn’t achieve the $20 billion sale price for the electricity network.

“$350 million in funding for the bypass is, as Mr Ward’s own motion mentions, “contingent” on the sale of the electricity network.

“Mr Ward needs to start providing some clear answers to these critical questions.

“At the moment, he can’t”, she said.
