Member for Shellharbour Anna Watson today rejected a briefing on the new Service NSW Centre at Warrawong telling Service NSW officials that she was only interested in the State Government delivering a new Service NSW Centre for the Shellharbour electorate.

“I am absolutely livid with the Minister’s announcement yesterday and now to receive this offer of a briefing this morning on the new Service NSW Centre at Warrawong is just rubbing salt into wounds.

“The Service NSW letter simply re-confirms that every single Illawarra electorate gets a Service NSW Centre except my electorate.

“If State Government bureaucrats think writing me a letter asking me to be briefed over tea and scones will placate my outrage on behalf of my local community, they have another thing coming.

“Come November my electorate becomes the black hole of service delivery by the State Government with the closure of the Shellharbour Motor Registry.

“I wrote to the Minister for Finance, Services and Property, Domenic Perrottet MP yesterday afternoon making it clear that I wouldn’t stand for my electorate missing out on its own Service NSW Centre.

“My electorate is the population growth area of the Illawarra region.

“For my local communities to be treated with such outright contempt by the State Government is a disgrace and I will not stand for it.

“The people of my electorate have a right to expect comparable services to every other local community in every other electorate in the region”, Ms Watson said.
