The Illawarra Forum has been granted just over $18,000 for its 2528 at Crew Park, Warilla project.

Crew Park at Warilla was recently damaged by vandalism.

Funding for the project is one of nine in the Illawarra under the State Government’s Social Housing Community Improvement Fund (SHCIF).

Projects funded include improving community facilities, enhancing open space, improving resident safety as well as facilitating better integration between social housing and the surrounding community.

Comments attributable to Anna Watson MP:

“I am absolutely delighted that the Illawarra Forum has been successful in attracting this funding.

“Crew Park was recently damaged by mindless vandalism.

“There is a great community spirit in Warilla and Crew Park is a symbol of persistence and determination.

“I was very pleased to provide some funding under the Community Building Partnerships (CBP) program a couple of years ago to help improve the facilities at Crew Park.

“This latest funding will help a determined local community improve Crew Park for the benefit of the many children in Warilla.”
