LOCAL SHELLHARBOUR ARTS GET FUNDING BOOST

Arts and culture in the Shellharbour area will get a funding boost with the approval of nearly $8,000 in funding grants awarded under the State Government’s 2016 Country Arts Support Program, Member for Shellharbour, Anna Watson announced today.

“I am very pleased to see that KidsFest Shellharbour and Shellharbour City Council will share in $7,412 in overall funding to increase the presence, awareness and appreciation of the arts and culture in Shellharbour”, she said.

KidsFest Shellharbour Inc will receive $2,642 towards Shades of the Illawarra project – enabling the community to explore and express cultural identities.  KidsFest will work with community members, local artists and volunteers in a series of workshops.

Shellharbour City Council will receive $4,770 towards the Kiama and Shellharbour Online Arts Directory, which aims to provide a comprehensive and searchable online directory of artists within the Kiama and Shellharbour local government areas.
