Speed limits on the Oak Flats Interchange will be reduced from the current 80 kms per hour to 60 kms per hour following a review by Roads and Maritime Services (RMS).
The RMS review was conducted under the Southern Regions Safety Investigation Program.
The review took into account NSW Speed Zoning Guidelines, relevant technical standards and an examination of roads on the Oak Flats Interchange.
Comments attributable to Anna Watson MP:
“Speed on our local roads can kill or injure motorists.
“Reducing speed limits on the Oak Flats Interchange is designed to make this road as safe as possible for all motorists.
“The Oak Flats Interchange is essentially a gigantic round-a-about and some motorists do become confused with the number of exits.
“Reducing speed limits from 80 kilometres an hour to 60 kilometres an hour allows all motorists to take more time to be careful when entering and exiting the Oak Flats Interchange.”
