MEMBER FOR SHELLHARBOUR
YASMIN CATLEY MP
NSW SHADOW MINISTER FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE
A Chris Minns NSW Labor Government will assess the need for new Service NSW centres throughout the state, including Dapto, to service the rapidly growing population of the area.
There is currently no Service NSW Centre in the fast-growing Dapto area, with residents needing to travel to Warrawong or Wollongong for all of their over-the-counter Service NSW requirements.
Anna Watson, Member for Shellharbour, has been lobbying on behalf of her community since 2019 for the Government to open a Service NSW Centre in Dapto.
“NSW Government services are increasingly delivered through Service NSW including vehicle registration, driving and fishing licences, and concessions and rebates”. Ms Watson said.
“Many people need to access services face-to-face and the lack of a Service NSW Centre in the Dapto area makes it harder for those people to receive assistance.” Ms Watson said.
Shadow Minister for Customer Service, Yasmin Catley MP, said there was certainly a strong case for a Service NSW Centre to be established in Dapto, which has excellent public transport services and a rapidly growing population.
“I have had several conversations with the Member for Shellharbour, Anna Watson, regarding the need for a Service NSW Centre in Dapto and she has certainly put a compelling case forward.” Ms Catley said.
“NSW Labor will look at options to address this issue that has plagued residents of Dapto and West Dapto for far too long.” Ms Catley said.
