THE SHELLHARBOUR ELECTORATE EXPANDS EV CHARGING NETWORK WITH 4 NEW CHARGERS

The Minns Labor Government is installing 4 new Electrical Vehicle chargers in the Shellharbour electorate as part of a $5 million expansion of the kerbside electric vehicle charging network in NSW.

The new infrastructure will make charging easier, more accessible and convenient for drivers who don't have off-street parking, such as those who live in apartments and densely populated areas.

Drivers across Lake Illawarra and Warilla will benefit from 4 new EV chargers to power up their electric vehicles.

The chargers – ranging from 7 kilowatts to 22 kilowatts – will be installed on kerbsides or in public council car parks over the next year or so.

They are among 549 new chargers being installed under the NSW Government’s EV Kerbside Charging Grants. The government is delivering $2.8 million worth of grants to five recipients which will contribute another $2.2 million in private investment. The recipients are Charge Post, Connected Kerb, EVX, Plus ES and Electrifying Asset Management.

Quote attributable to Acting Minister for Climate Change and Energy, Paul Scully:

“Expanding the NSW EV charging network gives drivers the confidence they need to go electric, knowing ample charging options are readily available.

“This isn't just about convenience; EVs give people the chance to slash household transport costs and accelerate our journey to net-zero emissions.

Quote attributable to the Member for Shellharbour, Anna Watson:

“We're thrilled to announce the rollout of new kerbside EV chargers right here in the Shellharbour electorate made possible by grants delivered by the Minns Labor Government.

“The addition of 4 in our electorate will enhance accessibility for residents who don't have the ability to charge in a garage or off-street parking.”
